The Troy–Miami County Public Library (TMCPL) is excited to announce its lineup of Winter 2026 Literacy and Learning programs designed to engage young readers and their families. From interactive story times to hands-on activities, these programs provide opportunities to build early literacy skills, foster creativity, and encourage social-emotional learning.
Baby Stories
Designed for ages 0–2, Baby Stories combines singing, reading, talking, and playful activities to support early literacy and strengthen parent-child bonding. No registration is required.

Library Stories
A story time for babies, toddlers, and preschoolers featuring stories, songs, and early literacy activities. Drop in and enjoy a fun, interactive experience with your little ones.

Be My Neighbor Club
In partnership with ThinkTV PBS, this 6-week program introduces children to themes of kindness through stories, videos, and activities featuring Daniel Tiger from Daniel Tiger’s Neighborhood.
When: Wednesdays, 10–11 a.m. | Jan 14–Feb 25
Afternoon Book & Craft
For toddlers and preschoolers ages 2–5, each week explores a new picture book with related hands-on activities, sparking creativity and literacy skills.
When: Thursdays, 2–2:30 p.m. | Jan 22–Feb 26
Story Time at Ernst Cafe
Enjoy a cozy story time at the Ernst Cafe inside the Arbogast Performing Arts Center, featuring stories, songs, and activities for young children and their caregivers.
When: Saturdays, 9–9:30 a.m. | Jan 10 & Feb 14
“All of our winter programs are designed to nurture a love of reading and learning from the earliest ages,” said Andrea Wackler, Youth Programs and Services Manager of TMCPL. “We encourage families to join us for these fun, interactive opportunities to explore stories, develop literacy skills, and connect with their community.”
