If you’re in the area I would suggest visiting the falls at least once every season. In the winter you can view it when it’s icy and snow covered, in the fall you will experience the falls among the backdrop of ever-changing foliage and in the spring and summer, you are able to view them in their full beauty among the greenery surrounding them.
The best part about the falls is that they are surprisingly easy to access.
Located just outside of downtown West Milton, all you need to do is the park in the lot across from the Masonic Lodge on State Rt. 571 and follow the signs. You will hear the falls as soon as you exit the car because it’s located literally right behind the houses that line Main Street.
There are a few observation areas at different levels for your viewing pleasure. Each area giving you a different view of the falls. You are able to look out over the falls, view from the falls level and then you are able to follow the sidewalk down steps and get very close to the river that they flow into.
The West Milton Cascades are on private property and the viewing areas area not regularly maintained. The signs state that viewing the falls is at your own risk and that no one under 18 is allowed to go.
