5 Reasons to Check Out the Miami County Food Truck Competition & Rally

In the last few years, food Trucks have been on the rise in the greater Miami County area. Serving up delicious food and traveling to new destinations, it’s easy to see why they are so popular. Saturday, May 20th, 2017 marks the 3rd annual Miami County Food Truck Competition & Rally held at the Miami County Fairgrounds in Troy, Ohio. This free event kicks off at 11am, runs until 9pm, and is expected to have more than 10,000 people in attendance this year. Here are five reasons you should check out the Miami Valley Food Truck Competition and Rally going on this weekend.

The Cause

The Miami County Food Truck Competition & Rally helps to support and raise money for the Miami County Agricultural Society, this society is  responsible for the upkeep and maintenance of the Fairgrounds which includes 111 acres and multiple buildings.

The Food

This amazing event will host over 50 Food Trucks, making this one of the largest Food Truck events in our area. With this selection you will find a variety of options and flavors ranging from BBQ to Thai, making it easy to find something new and delicious to enjoy. Prices will vary and remember food trucks don’t serve junk it’s more of a gourmet fast food so keep that in mind if it takes a little longer to make it through the line then you would expect.

The Entertainment

Entertainment kicks off at noon starting with the Troy Strawberry Festival Homegrown Talent Semi Finals. At 3pm, DJ Bruce Adamson will be taking over and spinning tunes. Rounding out the evening will be The American Kings, back by popular demand, we hope to see as much dancing and audience engagement as there was last year.

The Shopping

The Miami County Food Truck Competition and Rally will also host over 40 vendors. These vendors range from direct sales to local businesses and brands. Some vendors you should expect to see are Damsel in Defense, Domestic Divas, and Thirty One.

Some local businesses you can expect to be represented areAdventures on the Great Miami, Anytime Fitness, and the Bad Seed Mustard Company.

 

The Events

More into hot rods then hot food? Don’t worry there’s something for you as well! New this year is the Miami Valley Kruzers Collector Car Show from 2pm to 5pm. Anyone interested in showing off their ride will need to register which starts at noon.

Also, new this year is a shuttle from the north parking lot to the Upper Valley Fiber Fest, Midwest Goat Show and Food Truck Rally throughout the day, making it easy to navigate and get around.

Rounding out the family fun events will be the Kiddie Tractor Pull.

The Miami County Food Truck Competition and Rally has really shaped up to be a great event with a lot to offer anyone.  So grab a bite, claim a picnic table, and cast your vote this Saturday!
